We love to hear about how your day with us went and we always seek feedback at the time of forwarding your link to your photos. We can’t post each one up here, but we’ll try to keep a random selection available, good or bad, but we’re pleased to say we’ve never had the latter!
Just to say thank you for a great day. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.
Northern Pennine Mine exploration
All involved really enjoyed the day – thanks so much for your organisation and input, especially at the “reluctant” moment at the crawl! You handled it all very well, and everyone has been saying how good it all was.
I am pleased to say your staff were absolutely brilliant and they supported all our students so well. In particular they were excellent with Maisie and managed to convince her to take part and have a real go. They were encouraging and managed to keep everyone safe without the need to shout at them.
I would say that any other activity sessions we can do with them would be a great idea as the kids took well to them too!
I felt this was an excellent exciting activity for the students, Iain and his team knew exactly how to get the best out of the students taking part. When someone wasn’t sure or scared, they had the right approach and temperament to help them get over their fears. This was evident with every student participating, and to see them taking on challenges they thought impossible was amazing.
I would highly recommend we do this activity again next year.
Many thanks for the link our photos.
We had such a great day. Isabel and Jasmine loved it and we all hope to see you again soon.
Thanks for keeping us safe J

“I have learned so much and enjoy every second (even when it looked as if I wasn’t it) i admit i am shattered but full of happy moments!”
Above are just 2 of the messages I received today…… Many more the same.
Thank you so much for Saturday. What a fantastic job you both did, allowing us all, regardless of shape, size or age to really experience something special.
I think it’s fair to say that you’ll be putting up with our incessant chatter again in the new year!
In the meantime keep up the good work…. You really do make a difference to people’s lives.
All the best
Thanks for a great day last Thursday, Harry is still talking about it.
Once again thanks and hopefully we will be in touch in the spring for another day.
Telefonica training day
A big thank you for providing your help, support and advice for the event. Also, a big thanks to Peter, his dedication to duty on the waterfall climb was fantastic!
It was a pleasure to deal with you both. You structured the event at just the right level and made sure the team saw the more difficult elements as options. Plus, it was good to have a coffee and chat afterwards!
As soon as I can get online, I will have a look at the flickr pics and will send the link on to the rest of the team.
Thank you for the photos, I’m glad we have some great pics to remind us of our adventure! We really enjoyed ourselves, thank you for such an amazing and informative day, We’d love to do it again, and hopefully will be returning “up North” for another weekend break late spring next year.
By the way, you were right about feeling sore the next day, and the day after that!, Hell, we’re both covered in bruises! Thank heavens for the Hot Tub!

I’ll take a look at the photos later tonight, and try and fathom out where I have been using the Mine Explorer website.
I’ll definitely be in touch again shortly, but if I don’t speak to you in the next few weeks, enjoy the Dolomites.
Thanks for sorting a great day for us, really enjoyed it, great experience. I will look at the photos at home, again, thanks for doing that.

Thanks for the photos, and for the information.
I really enjoyed our visit yesterday, and would certainly like to take it a step further.
Molly and I just wanted to Thankyou for a great day and experience! We both fully enjoyed the caves and the interesting knowledge you had. Molly was particularly impressed “iain knows so much dad”, sorry she got a bit cold at the end and we missed your last treat but don’t worry you can save that till next time. If you get a chance to email a few photos that would be great.
I will be looking for a chance to bring some colleagues to the peaks for the 4-5 hr cave trip you mentioned
Steve and Molly

Advanced SRT Training and Guiding
I’m keen to continue as you have made the trips good fun. To be honest it’s felt more like caving with a competent mate than a paid trip – thank you.
Once again thank you so much for a terrific day, we had a great time. And thank you for all the photographs too.
All the best,
We would just like to say thank you again for the caving experience on Saturday. We will definitely be booking again.
Thanks Paul and Tracy

Sharon and Mick
My wife bought me a caving voucher from GoCave for my 30th Birthday.
My day caving in Derbyshire was absolutely amazing. From the moment we booked it to the day itself, Iain’s organisational skills have been wonderful.
We met in the cafe beforehand for a breakfast and to discuss what lay ahead on the trip. The equipment supplied was of a very high standard. His experience and knowledge were second to none and he made the trip very enjoyable.
Whilst in the caves, Iain introduced me to the ‘Vice’, it really has to be seen to be believed! The day was also finished off nicely with a hot drink and some tasty home baked treats!
I definitely want to do caving again and will be recommending GoCave to everybody.
I look forward to booking with you again in the future.
Thank you for a fantastic experience.
Thanks for the great photographs.
We had such a good time yesterday, the kids were over the moon! Sorry we had to beat a hasty retreat!
I think we now have two proto-cavers in the making. When back in Inglesport, Aidan was asking how soon until he could get his own caving suit – and when could he next go? So, you’ve definitely made a pair of converts there.
Thanks so much, you were great with them and made the day very special. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend you.
Now we’re back from holiday I wanted to send you a quick thank you for the day we spent with you. Whilst the kids were enthusiastic from the start as a sufferer of vertigo and claustrophobia caving and climbing didn’t feature high of my list of must dos, but the day we had was easily the best whilst we were in Yorkshire! It must have been a challenge finding something a 7 year old would find achievable whilst providing a degree of difficulty for our 13 year old! However, both came away buzzing and have constantly asked how long before we can go back and have another go!
From a parents perspective the level of instruction and condition of the equipment (all of which looked new) provided me with a level of comfort throughout and the one on one basis meant we could undertake the day at our own pace without the stress you normally find associated with group type bookings. For any prospective group booking I would advocate this approach and can thoroughly commend the competency and professionalism of Iain from booking through to completion of the activities…..he even managed to give us all a geology lesson underground which was particularly interesting.
Thanks again Iain……and hopefully we’ll see you in the not too distant future!!!
Vertical Caving, Training Weekend
I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you for a superb experience this weekend. The training facility at Ullswater is superb and allowed me to find my feet so to speak in a controlled environment. The caving on the Sunday was awesome, challenging, but doable is probably the right description. Rest assured, I will be back for more caving, and when I am ready, more training. Thanks very much
I have been meaning to email you all week and haven’t seemed to stop long enough to write it 🙂
Thank you very much for our caving experience, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves down there, and had such a laugh doing it! You have been so helpful right from my first email to you and you filled me with such confidences that we travelled 4 hours to cave with you :0)
We all definitely want to cave some more in the future so you just might hear from me again!
Again, Thank you very much.
Take care, cant wait to see the photos!
Jess and my fellow cavers 🙂
Intro to Caving/Mining, Derbyshire
We had a brilliant day yesterday and the last minute change of plan was not a problem for us at all. We felt as though we had a really good chance to experience potholing for the first time and definitely would like to have another day underground. We were also thinking of doing some climbing with you in the summer.
We are all really looking forward to seeing the photos.
Thanks again for a terrific day and hopefully we will see you for another adventure soon.
P.s. thanks for the tea and cakes.
SRT Training Weekend
Thanks Iain, We had a great weekend – we all learned a lot, enjoyed it and felt stretched without being scared which was fantastic. We’ll definitely give you a shout at some point about doing a rigging course.
Intro to Vertical Caving, Yorkshire

Also thanks v much for the photos.
Intro to caving Derbyshire, Bagshawe cavern
The disk arrived today – thanks a lot. It brings back all the memories of the brilliant day I had down a cave in the Derbyshire! I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t stop talking about it even now. Your professional tuition, excellent knowledge, sensitive guidance and encourangement all made it a very fulfilling event. I really enjoyed your company too (plus the cakes)and who knows – I may be back again next year!
Thanks again for everything.
Intro to Caving, Yorkshire
A fantastic day exploring the Longchurn network in the Yorkshire Dales. Myself and my partner left with a real sense of satisfaction and a desire to return! So much variation to explore, underground waterfalls and a wide variety of rock formations meant that we never knew what to expect next.
Iain’s passion and knowledge made the day much more interesting than just crawling around underground! All the equipment was provided and we felt extremely safe at all times, but it was definitely an adventure.
We’d recommend this day to couples, groups of friends, corporate parties or families as it can be tailored to suit varying fitness levels and with Iain’s amazing indestructible camera we also have some memories of our day. Can’t recommend enough.
*Nicola & Rez, London *
Hope everything’s okay. Just wanted to say (a bit later than intended!), thanks again for the caving experience – we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back again. We were actually considering potholing next year, but plenty of time left to arrange that!
“Myself and my two children did a one day intro to caving with Gocave.com in the Yorkshire Dales, visiting the Longchurns system.
It was the most enjoyable and physically challenging day. We finished the day with smiles (despite the appalling weather) and an incredible sense of achievement.
We came to the day with an appetite based on show-cave visits, needless to this was a very different experience, in the most positive way. The Longchurn system was an excellent mix of atmosphere, geology and challenge for us novices, all of this made so much more meaningful by our excellent guide (Iain) whose enthusiasm and positiveness led us around even the more taxing obstacles with good humour and no serious event. This was furthered by his obvious passion and general knowledge of his subject. The day became so much more than mere physical activity…… geology lessons, archeological discovery and so on. All of this combined to make one incredible day, one that this family will not forget for a very long time, thank you Iain/Gocave.com.
We will definitely be back, we are already considering what (and where) our next adventure might be; we really hope that we will be able work with Iain again.
Everyone should experience caving like this at least once in their lives.
Thank you again.
Graeme, Courtenay and Quentin.
“Some friends and I booked a one-day beginners caving course with Gocave.com at the end of June 2009. This was part of a long camping weekend spent in the Lakes & Yorkshire. None of us had any prior experience so we were pretty much ready for anything!” Caving definitely turned out to be the highlight of the weekend for all of us. We met Iain, our guide/instructor, at a cafe in Ingleton for a full English (essential fuel for caving!) and a briefing on what was to follow.
The briefing was interesting and covered all bases – giving us a good idea of what to expect and how the day would pan out, as well as a bit of a geology lesson on the formation of Longchurns (the cave system we were about to visit). After getting kitted out in full caving gear, we headed into Longchurns through one of the many entry points and began our adventure! We probably spent around 2-3 hours in the cave system, exploring most of the different tunnels and features that make up Longchurns. Thank you.
Iain was a brilliant instructor – giving us informative details about how all these features had been formed, and also giving us the opportunity to try out certain more challenging routes through the cave system, most of which proved to be a very tight squeeze! The routes we took included a good mixture of different activities, including crawling/ squeezing through some tight spots, having to do some climbing/ scrambling in places, and visiting some large cavern sections where the opportunity to stand up was appreciated by everyone!
When we left the cave system late that afternoon, we were all on a high after such an exciting experience, and have already spoken about the possibility of coming back next year for some more caving action. Thanks Iain for such a great day! Highly recommended!”
All the best,
